We are grateful to any who wish to give of their time, effort, and money to help
participate and sponsor a teen special event. Sponsors are adults (out of high school
and older) who volunteer to give their time to students during a special event of some
sort.
We also realize that sponsoring a youth trip is sometimes a lot of work and we will help
sponsors pay their way on youth trips if needed. The following is a list of
characteristics that Lamar Avenue Youth Ministries expects of sponsors:
1) We expect sponsors to model the life of Jesus Christ at all times.
2) We expect sponsors to have sensitivity, patience, and encouragement when dealing
with the needs of students.
3) We expect questions when uncertainty is present.
4) We expect sponsors to be flexible and willing to adapt.
5) We expect sponsors to communicate with adult leadership concerning items such as:
feeling overwhelmed, behavioral problems with student(s), uncertainty as to how to
handle a particular situation, etc.
